Leah began singing in church when she was about five years old, harmonizing with Jordan and Lesha.
In 2008, Leah's stepdad pastored a church in Lula, Georgia. Leah lived and worked in Athens but drove to Lula to attend service there. That is where she began to sing on her own since Lesha and Jordan were attending other churches.
Fast-forward to 2017 – in addition to singing lead/soprano in Blind Mercy, Leah now plays the piano and leads the worship team in an eclectic variety of songs at Monroe First Congregational Holiness Church, where she has attended since 2010. She also plays the bass guitar for the church choir. In addition to her roles in music ministry, Leah is the Young Adult Sunday school teacher and fundraising organizer, and Christmas production director at the church.
In her down time, Leah enjoys blogging. Her blog can be found at the top of the homepage. It is titled "This Life That I Lose." The scriptural basis for it is 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 where we are told that this life is not our own – we were bought with a price. To that, she posts devotion-type blogs. Additionally, Leah has begun eating a low-carb diet to lose weight and gain overall health. So, she posts recipes, meal ideas, and exercises. There are also some fun posts about party planning and outings on the blog. Check it out!
Leah says, "My goal is to create an atmosphere that welcomes the Holy Spirit, but not just through music and lyrics. I want my life to be an atmosphere where He feels welcome at all times."
